About SAGUWE

SAGUWE is a Student Scouts and Guides Organisation (SSAGO) club based at the University of the West of England in Bristol. We run during term time and anyone can come that is a member of the UWE Students Union (A UWE student, or UWESU associate member). We do loads of activites, which has earned us the strapline 'we do everything - and more!'.

As a society, we aim to try anything that anyone wants to do. We love trying new things, as well as our favourite pub evenings and bar crawls. We wouldn't be a Scout and Guide society without some camping too, though - we participate in our own camps at Woodhouse Park near Bristol every October, and three national SSAGO camps throughout the academic year in November, February and June/July.

As a SSAGO club, we are affiliated to both GirlGuiding UK and The Scout Association. We have contacts within both organisations in Bristol and surrounding areas, and can put you in touch with Network groups and Scout/Guide groups if you're looking to continue or take up voluntary work while at University. While we don't currently work towards Scout and Guide-related awards, we can again put you in touch with the relevant county representatives.
